Hi, I'm Molly.

Welcome to my food blog and try not to lick the screen.

My favorite question to ask people is, "what is your death row meal?" Mine is pumpkin ravioli in a sage cream sauce from Girasole. Or pizza.  Or fancy tacos.

How many bras do you have in your drawer right now? How many do you actually wear? Are any of them a perfect fit?

Ladies (and some gents), I have spent my entire adult life searching for the perfect bra and about a year ago I finally found it. Whether you have mosquito bites for boobs or require a sturdy over-the-shoulder-boulder-holder, this is the bra company for you.

Behold… ThirdLove. This is honestly the best bra I’ve ever worn. Here is why I love this brand:

Sizing and Trying

Bra shopping is right up there with jean shopping for ways to practice self hate and misery. Dressing room mirrors and lighting are the devil. With Third Love, you take a size quiz online and they send you a recommended size FOR FREE that you get to wear around for 30 days. Because how can you actually tell if a bra is comfortable by standing in a dressing room for a few minutes? You can’t. You have a move through your life and do normal things to make a true determination of the fit. After 30 day trial period you can either send it back or keep it!

I realize that taking a quiz to determine your bra size sounds ridiculous but you’d be surprised! Because this company was founded be women with boobs and is run by women with boobs, they are asking all the right questions. I learned that I’ve been wearing the wrong size because the size I really need doesn’t exists in other brands.

For years I’ve been going back and forth between a 36C and a 34D, neither of which ever felt just right. Third Love sent me a 34C1/2 and my boobs have never been happier.

60 Day Fit Guarantee

We want you to be completely happy with your ThirdLove purchase. You have 60 days to wear it, wash it, and live in it to make sure it is perfect. If something’s not right, we can help. Our Fit Experts are available via text, live chat, or email to answer any questions you might have. Our Returns & Exchanges Center makes it easy for you to locate your order and easily swap out the size and/or style. Not applicable on Try Before You Buy orders.

The bras start at $68 each. This price might be too high for some, I get that. But you are investing in quality and comfort for something that you basically wear every day. And because the quality is so good, you will buy less bras in the long run and not have to replace them as often.

They have a rewards program:

  • Buy 2 bras, save $15

  • Buy 3 bras, save $30

  • Buy 4 bras, save $50

Champions for Women

In addition to delivering quality, pretty, and comofrtable bras for women of all shapes and sizes, Third Love partners with organizations like The Unmentionables and I Support the Girls to donate bras to women in need. In 2018 they have donated over 75,000 bras.

Third Love’s CEO, Heidi Zak recently stood up to industry giant, Vicotria’s Secret, after the Chief Marketing Officer, Ed Razek, made offensive comments about plus sized women and transgender people in an interview with Vogue

Third Love penned an open letter to Victoria’s Secret in a full page ad in the New York Times. I encourage you to read the full letter here, but here are some good excerpts:

“You market to men and sell a male fantasy to women,” wrote Zak. “But at ThirdLove, we think beyond, as you said, a ’42-minute entertainment special.’ Your show may be a ‘fantasy,’ but we live in reality. Our reality is that women wear bras in real life as they go to work, breastfeed their children, play sports, care for ailing parents and serve their country.”

“ThirdLove is the antithesis of Victoria’s Secret,” she wrote. “We believe the future is building a brand for every woman, regardless of her shape, size, age, ethnicity, gender identity or sexual orientation. This shouldn’t be seen as groundbreaking, it should be the norm.”

You go girl! I love seeing women in business kick ass.

Trusst Lingerie

If your bra size is a D+ or higher, you should look into Trusst Lingerie. The company founder is a woman (hooray!) and has a background in design and engineering - Wow!

When it comes to bras, the D+ woman has had to deal with a range of issues: shoulder dents, boob sweat, back pain and poking wires have been a fact of life. That's because D+ bras have typically just been larger versions of AA bras. Leave it to a small group of women to change all that.

Your Trusst bra is the result of years of research, consumer interviews, advanced engineering, and technical design. Trusst’s foundation in science means that we live and breathe weight distribution, stress points, and high-tech materials.

Slightly off topic but as a marketer, I couldn’t love the branding and company name more. How freaking clever.

Panties is a vile word should be abolished from the English language. Can we please all decide to stop uttering this awful word. Ugh. I’m cringing.

Truthfully, as much as I love Third Love bras, I don’t love their underwear. I ordered a small and I don’t think it would fit my 3 year old niece. Then I tried a medium and I don’t think it would fit my 5 year old niece. I don’t really understand this sizing issue. My ass isn’t that big... wait, is it? IS IT?!?

My go-to brand for undies is Natori. They only come in one size - I don’t know why or how this can possibly work for more than a handful of body types but it works for me and I really love these undies on my bum. They run $18 each, or 3 for $45, but I can often find them on sale on Amazon.

Have you tried these brands? What did you think? What are your favorite brands for foundations?
